Just like in NY, the bar promises to become the celebrity epicenter of the English capital.

Since its 2015 debut in Manhattan, The Polo Bar has remained one of New York’s most elusive reservations. A decade later, the restaurant—formally The Polo Bar Ralph Lauren—continues to function as a high-profile cultural anchor, hosting patrons ranging from Jerry Seinfeld and Taylor Swift to former President Joe Biden. Now, that same energy is crossing the Atlantic.

The company has confirmed that its new London establishment is scheduled to open in 2028 at 1 Hanover Square, the Mayfair building previously known as Vogue House. This location will mark the sixth restaurant in the brand’s international portfolio, joining existing venues in New York, Paris, Chicago, Milan, and Chengdu.

A Four-Decade British Legacy

The expansion reinforces a relationship with the United Kingdom that spans more than 40 years. London holds significant historical weight for the brand; it was the site of Ralph Lauren’s first international flagship store, which opened on New Bond Street in 1981. Today, the company’s British operations include 12 retail stores and two Ralph’s Coffee locations at New Bond Street and Brompton Cross.

Ralph Lauren, Executive Chairman and Chief Creative Officer, noted that the project is a reflection of his long-standing appreciation for British heritage. "I have always been inspired by the special charm and heritage of the British way of living," Lauren stated. "There is an effortless grace that is rooted in centuries of tradition—a blend of timeless sophistication, understated ease, and natural elegance."

His influence on global style and his philanthropic contributions were formally recognized in 2019, when he became the first American fashion designer to be appointed an Honorary Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (KBE).

Strategic Lifestyle Expansion

The growth of the hospitality division serves as a tactical extension of the brand's lifestyle ecosystem. By integrating the culinary arts into its business model, Ralph Lauren Corporation has moved beyond traditional retail to offer a comprehensive brand experience. This strategy is backed by solid financial performance; in the most recent fiscal year, the company reported annual revenues of US$ 7.079 billion, a 6.75% increase over the previous year.

The brand's commitment to British institutions also extends to sports and healthcare. Since 2006, Ralph Lauren has served as the Official Outfitter of The Championships, Wimbledon. Furthermore, the 2016 establishment of the Ralph Lauren Centre for Breast Cancer Research at The Royal Marsden underscores a long-term investment in the community.

While a specific opening date within 2028 has yet to be announced, The Polo Bar at Hanover Square is expected to mirror the club-like atmosphere of the Manhattan original, combining classic equestrian aesthetics with a refined dining experience.
